Warnings and precautions
The administration of acetylcysteine, especially at the beginning of treatment, by fluidizing bronchial secretions, can at the same time increase their volume. If the patient is unable to expectorate effectively, postural drainage and brocoaspiration should be used to avoid retention of secretions.
What to do during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, KOFIMUCIL MUCOLITIC must be used only after consulting your doctor and having evaluated the risk/benefit ratio in your case with him.
Consult your doctor if you suspect you are pregnant or want to plan a pregnancy.
Side effects
Possible side effects Like all medicines, KOFIMUCIL MUCOLITIC can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Below are the side effects (and their frequency) that have occurred after taking acetylcysteine orally.

In very rare cases, the appearance of serious skin reactions has occurred in temporal connection with the intake of acetylcysteine, such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome. In case of mucocutaneous alterations it is advisable to contact your doctor and the intake of acetylcysteine must be stopped immediately.
Some studies have confirmed a reduction in platelet aggregation when taking acetylcysteine.
